Lapis Lazuli Anglican Rosary with Carndonagh Cross
This handmade Anglican rosary is crafted in Scotland using 8mm high-grade lapis lazuli beads, renowned for their rich ultramarine blue and golden flecks of pyrite. Historically prized since antiquity, lapis lazuli symbolises divine wisdom, truth, and inner peace. In Christian tradition, its deep celestial hue evokes the heavens and the Virgin Mary’s mantle, inviting contemplation of the divine mysteries during prayer.
The rosary is finished with antiqued brass metalwork, lending it a timeless, sacred feel. At its centre is a detailed replica of the 7th-century Carndonagh Cross, one of Ireland’s oldest surviving High Crosses, found in County Donegal. The original cross bears early Christian carvings of Christ and the Four Evangelists, symbolising the spread of the Gospel to the corners of the earth. This powerful symbol of Irish faith anchors the rosary in the monastic and missionary traditions of the Celtic Church.
Inspired by ancient pilgrimages through the Irish countryside—from holy wells to remote monasteries—this rosary is not just a tool for prayer but a spiritual companion. It connects the user to a living tradition of devotion, craftsmanship, and sacred heritage. Ideal for Anglican prayer or as a meaningful gift, it invites the soul into a rhythm of peace and presence.
