Saint Francis Tau Cross Anglican Rosary - Jade

Some devotional objects seem to ask to be admired. This handmade Saint Francis Anglican rosary, made in Scotland from 8mm jade beads and richly worked antiqued brass, asks to be held.
 
At its heart is the Tau Cross of Saint Francis. Its edges are softly irregular and its surface deeply textured—closer in feeling to stone, bark or old hand-worked metal than to something polished and machine-perfect. Saint Francis stands with his arms open among the birds, while a little bee appears beneath him: a tiny creature held within the larger story of creation, humility and praise.
 
The bee is a small detail, but a meaningful one. Here at Paisley Honey, it recalls a faith lived through humble, practical acts: tending, making, repairing, feeding, noticing and caring. Here, that Franciscan story is carried within the distinct rhythm of Anglican prayer beads. The rosary follows the traditional 33-bead Anglican pattern: 28 green jade Week beads arranged in four groups of seven, four antiqued brass Cruciform beads and a single Invitatory bead leading to the Tau Cross.
